In essence, the backend of your business is made up by your internal systems, regulations, and BTS operational protocols - likely, a lot of this is delegated at some point.

I won't cover each one of these in this post, but that can look like:

Standard operating procedures
Legal agreements + contracts
Seamless user experience
Systems & automations (tech)
Accounting + bookkeeping
Customer support
Client onboarding + off-boarding
Testimonial + feedback collection
...to name most!

YOU PROBABLY HAVE SOME OF THIS IMPLEMENTED ALREADY... BUT AS YOU GROW & THINGS CHANGE & YOU LEARN LESSONS FROM YOUR ENTREPRENEURIAL JOURNEY... YOU'VE GOT TO CREATE MORE SEAMLESS, EFFICIENT, CLEAR, AND UPGRADED WAYS TO KEEP IT ALL UP TO SPEED.

NO. 01: ENSURE YOUR PRIVACY POLICY + TERMS & CONDITIONS ARE UPDATED.


These two "agreements" serve as a statute between You (your business) & your customers / clients / students. Having these in place, updated, and visible ensure that your work, time, and business is protected and that your client's investments & experiences are protected.

Pro tip: have a consent protocol or procedure that people physically or digitally have to agree to the terms (this is present in everything I sell via https://spiritualbadbitch.com/termsandconditions/).

...That way, anytime someone tries to pull something outside of the agreement entered to, everyone has legal grounds to protect themselves. 💁🏽‍♀️ *this isn't legal advice, btw. I would suggest hiring a lawyer or purchasing relevant legal agreements to utilize within your business.

NO. 02: ENSURE THE LINKS TO YOUR COURSES, LEGAL AGREEMENTS, AFFILIATE SALES, SOCIAL MEDIAS, ETC. ARE UPDATED WITH THE PROPER DOMAIN ALIASES.

Straight to the point: make sure that wherever you have things linked that the link is still active + working properly, especially if these are sign up forms, social media channels, or places where you secure the bag. 💰 You want to ensure your digital trail is seamlessly accessible to people who are on it.

IDEA: Update the Terms & Conditions + Privacy Policy links from your website on your external course hosting platform

NO. 03: ENSURE THE COPY + CONTENT INSIDE OF THE EMAILS ON YOUR AUTOMATED SALES FUNNEL(ES) ARE UPDATED TO CURRENT RELEVANCY.

The copy inside of my automated sales funnels in 2020 would definitely not be relevant to the current climate because:

1. We aren't in lockdown or quarantine
2. The 2020 economy was completely different
3. The basis of emotional connection during that time is a little different than it is now... language wise.

POINT: Update the languaging & storytelling around the sales part of your offers within your automated sales funnels are consistent with current topics + times so that it's relevant to your audience & potential clientele.

NO. 04: HAVE PAPER TRAILS OF RESPONSES + STEPS TO HOW YOU HANDLE COMMON CLIENT SUPPORT INQUIRIES SO THAT YOU CAN CREATE A STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE TO DELEGATE TO AN ASSISTANT.

Example: A *SNIPPET* of one of the SOPs for The Secret Society Membership regarding failed payments (rare, but it happens in every business):

1st ACTION | Send the following email template from The Assistant email (LOVE@spiritualbadbitch.com)

NEXT…

IF they respond to resolve their payment issue,

THEN follow up with: ACTION 2a. | Check to see if their payment has been successfully reprocessed OR Retry their payment if that option Is available (in Stripe it is) IF their payment has been successful,

THEN

ACTION 2a. | Send the following confirmation email template from The Assistant email (LOVE@spiritualbadbitch.com)

In essence,

BUSINESS GETS TO BE SIMPLE + STRAIGHT TO THE POINT WHEN YOU KEEP EVERYTHING UP TO DATE AND CREATE A SIMPLIFIED PROCESS FOR HANDLING COMMON BUSINESS EXPERIENCES.

Taking time over the last 5 years to legally protect myself with thorough contracts + user agreements, investing time into creating seamless user experiences, thoroughly checking the optimization of tech, and creating clear processes + standards has saved me time + energy and allowed me to make more $$$.
